Milli Home has been inspired by elegant simplicity for Spring/Summer 2007. Soothing beige and fawn anchor last summer’s colors to tone down and calm the senses.
The hues are pared down and washed to give that comfortable lived in look. Colors are still predominant although they are not as saturated and as hot as last summer— icy yet warm at the same time.
Nature influenced motifs are ubiquitous. Lush botanicals and modern floral themes intersperse with traditional spring foliage to create movement and direction. Baroque oversized Belle Époque damasks are in updated cool icy tones- whisps of color infused on natural base cloths.
“This season, I’ve chosen many more natural-based fabrics such as silk noile, linens and cotton sateen,” says designer Marsha Cutler. “The trend is towards the ease and grace of classic purity.”
Texture, appliqués, embroidery over prints, layered printing all give the sense of depth and add a third dimension to give the designs more life.
This season the collection takes a more timeless approach to home decor using levity in pattern. “A less is more feel” weaves color, fabric and pattern to tell a cohesive story. |
